a catalyst for healing and reconciliation through the transformative power of music
About the Project
The Together In Hope Project serves as a catalyst for healing and reconciliation through the transformative power of music. We believe choral music communicates wisdom and truth that transforms human relationships. It serves as our common language and can move people of goodwill to action.
In October 2018 the Together In Hope Choir, a Minneapolis-St. Paul based community of premier artists, brought its message of reconciliation to Rome and the Vatican, and delivered the world premiere of So That the World May Believe: a Motet for Unity and Service, a new composition by Kim André Arnesen dedicated to Pope Francis in honor of his reconciliation efforts, and the European premiere of The Holy Spirit Mass. This performance opened the 17th annual Festival Internazionale di Musica e Arte Sacra.
The Together In Hope Project will develop future initiatives where it sees opportunity to be a catalyst for healing through music.
Gary Aamodt and Celia Ellingson are the founders of Together In Hope Project, a Minnesota non-profit corporation. They are joined on the Board by Diane Shelgren, Todd Smith, and Mark Stover, Artistic Director.
